上山打獵 ｜ Taiwan Truku board game
台灣的原住民文化中，太魯閣族屬於人數較少，且偏晚期才被承認的族群之一，所以為了傳承延續人數鮮少的太魯閣族文化，上山打獵以太魯閣族原住民文化為設計背景，結合具有原住民精神的全新桌遊。
整體設計使用線條的粗細變化和堆疊的手法來構成畫面，看似簡單卻象徵原住民的原始力量。字體筆劃以太魯閣族常見的彎刀曲線做參考，並以瘦長、簡單的造型反映出太魯閣族服飾素雅的特色；配色選擇代表著山嵐及水源的墨藍色，與象徵文化以及珍貴物資的木金色來做搭配，地圖選用布料的材質製作，而棋子選用木材以雷射切割刻劃出原住民的樣貌，呼應原住民早期生活使用紡織和木頭的原始元素。卡牌設計的內容與太魯閣族打獵文化息息相關，地圖設計也融入太魯閣族生活的環境，讓玩家能將自己比擬為太魯閣族獵人來親身體驗。
上山打獵這款桌遊有別於書籍的靜態呈現，透過遊戲的趣味體驗，更方便傳達原住民文化，不僅能學習原住民對環境敬重的精神和生活態度，還能藉此延續文化的傳承。

Taiwan's aboriginal culture is highly precious. Among them, the Truku belongs to ethnic minorities and one of Taiwan's later-recognized ethnic groups. Therefore, inspired by the Truku’s hunting culture, we designed a board game for players to understand the culture of Truku in an easy and simple way, and to promote its culture as well.
”上山打獵” is a board game which imitates the hunting process to let the players experience the life in Truku tribe. In the game, players must consider some conditions, including the environment, conservation, diet, taboos, hunting techniques, rituals ... and so on. Regarding to the design of the game’s rules, we designed some obstacles that a Truku’s hunter might encounter, making it harder to win the game easily. Besides, the players are required to think of a way for reaching the mission with limited resources.Hunters are the messengers in the mountain. They explore the nature with their intuition, linking to hundreds of routes. Hence, simple but visually powerful, we design the picture composition through the degree of the line’s thickness, which represents the roads hunters open up. The strokes of the logotype are inspired by the radian of the Truku’s traditional machete.
With its thinness and elegance, the logotype also reflects the Truku’s culture. We design the illustrations in two color, ink blue and wood gold. The former color represents the mountains and water, and the latter one is a symbol of Truku culture and precious materials.
